Flandreau Dam on the Big Sioux River
The Flandreau Mill Dam is one of area anglers favorite spots to fish. Located on north Crescent Street (about two blocks north of Second Avenue), the Flandreau Dam on the Big Sioux River provides a popular recreation outlet.
In 2014, the City of Flandreau in collaboration with the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe and community members formed the Flandreau Dam Revitalization Committee. Their mission statement is to revitalize the Flandreau Dam area to facilitate beautification, recreational opportunity, improve access and increase safety.
