In the Park
Located on the banks of the Big Sioux River, one - (1) mile east of the city of Flandreau, Flandreau City Park offers many recreational opportunities. Originally called Riverside Park, it consists of a tract of approximately fifteen (15) acres.
One of the facilities that may be rented for dances and other functions, is a "dancing pavilion" with hardwood floors, which was built in 1919 and named Japanese Gardens. It is one of the last facilities of this type in the area. Japanese Gardens was placed on the National Historical Preservation Society register in 1995.
Flandreau City Park is a popular meeting place where baseball and softball fields, camping facilities, playground and picnic areas are available.
