Flandreau Dam on the Big Sioux River

The Flandreau Dam is one of area anglers favorite spots to fish.  Located on N. Crescent Street (approx. two blocks north of 2nd Ave.), the Flandreau Dam provides a popular recreation outlet.

In 2024, the City of Flandreau in collaboration with the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe and community members formed the Flandreau Dam Revitalization Committee.  Their mission statement is to revitalize the Flandreau Dam area to facilitate beautification, recreational opportunity, improve access and increase safety.
