On behalf of the Flandreau Development Corporation (FDC) and our beautiful small town, we want to say welcome to Flandreau and the City’s website.

Whether in person or online, we appreciate your visit! We are proud of our community and the lifestyle that it offers. There are incredible opportunities for a wonderful life, lifestyle and career in our area. Every possible opportunity can be found here, from the small-town entrepreneur to employment at larger national and international companies located in and around the area.

Known since the Dust Bowl days as "the garden spot of the Dakotas," Flandreau is located in the bend of the Big Sioux River just 40 minutes north of Sioux Falls. We sincerely have wonderful schools, parks, an outdoor aquatic center, an Industrial Park ready for expansion, one of the most well-known bakeries in the region, a steak house that draws more than 40,000 visitors each year, about any service provider one could ask for or need, a new Avera Flandreau Hospital & Clinic, a retirement complex that includes every continuum of care for the aging, a strip mall which offers retail space along the most heavily traveled street in Flandreau, a beautiful, classic, century old, working theatre and a strong community partnership with the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, which owns and operates the Royal River Casino and Motel in town.

Those of us who live here are proud to call Flandreau home and those who spend any time with us, we are often told, leave impressed at what a great community we have.

Flandreau is an incredible place to call home and our small city is poised for some wonderful growth.
